The kids at school make fun of me because I failed third grade. They think I’m stupid. If I was at school everyday I could probably learn more and get better grades. I try really hard but Momma won’t let me go to school all the time. I know what that means when she tells me I'm staying home. When I see them giving her dollar bills I know they're going to hurt me. I used to scream and try to bite them but Momma whipped me with a fan belt after they left. Now I know not to cry; I just stay in the room and wait. I hope there will only be a few men today.
